Week 5 (FYP 1)

PREPARING GANT CHART

I have meet my supervisor on 28/8/2017 and he told me to follow the gant chart starting from market survey, literature review, blog, design product, simulation, product design (hardware), product testing, presentation and report FYP.

So I need to follow the schedule to keep my self on track. ^^,

LITERATURE REVIEW

Journal 1

This week I have make some research about the GSM. What is the GSM, How does a GSM work, and what is the GSM SIM card?

What is GSM?
GSM/GPRS is used to establish communication between a computer and a  GSM - GPRS system. Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) is an architecture used for mobile communication in most of the countries. Global Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is an extension of GSM that enables higher data transmission rate.

How does GSM work?
The GSM system uses TDMA to split a frequency into time slots. Probably the most useful thing to know about the Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) is that it is an international standard.

What is the GSM SIM card?
Its much easier to swap phones on GSM networks, because GSM carriers put customer information on a removable SIM card. Take the card out, put it in a different phone, and the new phone now has your number. Whats more, to be considered GSM, a carrier must accept any GSM-compliant phone.

I hope you guys will not bored from what have I has been share this week. Have a nice day and enjoy the video.

Week 4 (FYP 1)

1st BRIEFING OF FINAL YEAR PROJECT

Today is the 4th week for this FYP 1. The briefing was conducted in TTL 1 and the attendance of all FYP 1 students is compulsory.  The briefing was conducted by Madam Dr. Siti Marwangi Binti Mohamad Maharum and Dr Imran Bin Mohammad Sofi.

             Date : 25 August 2017
Venue : TTL 1
     Time : 3pm - 5pm

In this briefing, the FYP committees have briefed us about:
  • Code of subjects FYP must be correct and student should be register the project tittle before week 7.
  • Assessment that need to be cover for FYP 1 which is progress report (log book / blog), presentation and project proposal.
  • Factors that affecting good FYP.
  • Points to consider when selecting FYP supervisors.
  • Points to consider when selecting FYP Title.
  • Contents in FYP Proposal Report.
  • FYP activities for this semester.

The students were required to select the title of the project with carefully. But sometimes students may select the title that are offered by lecturer (FYP Supervisor).

LITERATURE REVIEW

Journal 1

I have make some research about the journal that related to my project. Here, I want to share some knowledge that I learn. In journal 1, the authors was talk about Gas leak detection which is on other word  is gas detector.

What is a gas detector ?
A gas detector is a device that detect the presence of gasses in an area, often as part of a safety system. This type of equipment is used to detect a gas leak or other emissions and can interface with a control system so a process can be automatically shut down. A gas detector can sound an alarm to operators in the area where the leak is occurring, giving them the opportunity to leave. This type of device is important because there are many gasses that can be harmful to organic life, such as humans or animals.Gas detector can be used to detect combustible, flammable and toxic gasses, and oxygen depletion. This type of device is used widely in industry.

What is gas leak detection?
Gas Leak detection is the process of identifying potentially hazardous gas leaks by sensors. These sensors usually employ an audible alarm to alert people when a dangerous gas has been detected. Exposure to toxic gasses can also occur in operations such as construction, entering confined spaces and etc. Common sensors include combustible gas sensor, electrochemical gas sensor, and semiconductor sensors.

I hope after reading this some knowledge, you guys can get more input about it. TQ for reading and enjoy the video.

Week 3 (FYP 1)

  DECIDING PROJECT TITLE

In this week , my supervisor have told me to meet the co-supervisor to discuss and confirm about what project that i want to make. After discuss with co-supervisor, he told me to do something about smart home system. Then, after a few days, I have decide to make a project about gas leakage in smart home system and he agree with my project title. He also suggest me to search about problem, needs, wants and solutions.
